Eliezer Bogatin
(1912-1993)

Eliezer was born in the town of Hradishitz in 1912 to Chanan abd Chana as their youngwst child. He grew up in the town of Baranowicz in Poland (now in Belarus). Received a traditional education. At an early age, he joined a pioneering youth movement and was active and volunteering in Zionist activities in his hometown. In the youth movement he met his wife Perla (Pnina). In 1933 they immigrated to Israel and joined Kibbutz Ramat Hakovesh. During the War of Independence he was active in the defense. In 1935 their son Yitzhak was born and a decade later, their daughter Hadassah. Following the split in Kibbutz HaMuhad, the family left Ramat Hakovesh and joined Kibbutz Givat Hashlosha and established Kibbutz Einat (1952). Eliezer was a painter and worked in an orchard. At the end of his life he worked in the Ein Bar bakery of the kibbutz. Eliezer Bogatin published poems and stories that appeared in literary journals and four books he published.
