Hillel Zaidel

Hillel Zaidel

Was born in Krakow in 1920. He studied Economy in the University in Vilna. Hillel Zeidel was one of the leaders of "Bennai Akiba". He was a member of the underground in the Vilna ghetto. he found himself in a concentration camp in Estonia, were he was a member of the Jewish underground. There (Estonia), he was rescued. He headed the "Bricha" movement helping rescue survivors and bringing them to Israel.

Hillel Zeidel came to Israel in 1948. He was Israel Liberal party Knesset member who broke ranks and joined Menachem Begin's Likud in 1977.
