Could you tell me some more about your family? When did your grandmother come to Israel? I spoke to a few people from Braslaw in
Israel and you should ask them for information. One is Moshe Bogomolski in Kibbutz Lohamai Hagetaot and another is Chiena Bekman
of Mazkeret Batia. Both of them were adults during the Shoah and survived.

Dear Eilat

Thank you for your prompt reply

My great grandfather is Israel Lif ( Z"L) who added a Page of
Testimony to Yad vasdhem for his daughter - Zelda Lif

? I know that Boris Brekman didn't write about the survival of
my grandmother and her father who were from Slobodka (by Braslaw), but
at the end of his story, in the Yizkor book there are the names of the
people that were killed during the holocaust and there are the names
of my grandmother family; my great grandmother; Frida Lif - and all
my grandmother sisters and brothers ? Abraham-Yitzchak, Zelda, Shalom,
Rachel and Mendel. It seems that someone knew (or guessed) that only
my great grandfather and my grandmother survived the Holocaust and
all the rest were killed and I wonder who it could be?
The story of my family :

Menachem-Mendel Liff from Slobodka married Zelda Koftolowicki (I don't
know from where) and they had 7 children; Chayke, Lipke, Chashke,
Scholem, Leib (Louise), Zalman (Saul) and Israel ? my great
grandfather.

? 3 Out of the 4 sons (expect for my great grandfather)
traveled to the US before WWII and lived there.

? The families of Chayke, Lipke and Cahske were all killed in
the Ponary forest according to my grandmother who where with them in
Vilna Ghetto until they were taken to that forest. My grandmother
lives now in Petach-Tikva, Israel.
.

? My great grandfather Israel Lif married Frida Bejgel (from
Swiencian) and had 6 children ? Abraham-Yitzchak (who died in
Bergen-Belzen), Zelda-Mera, Shalom, Rachel , Mendel and my
grandmother-Matle.

Matle met Yitzchak Elicer (born in Warsaw) after the war, in
Bergen-Belzen They were married, and shortly after their marriage my
father was born (Meir Elicer). They came to Israel in 1951 (with the
Negba boat) and had two more kids, Shifra and Symcha. The family name
was changed from Elicer to Elitzur.

Israel Lif died in Petach Tikva in 1991.

My grandmother Matle and my grandfather Yitzchak, May they live
long, live in Petach Tikva.

As I told you, I am very curious about who added the names of the Lif
family to the Yizkor book, since this is the only track I could find.

I'll be glad to translate the story of Mr. Berkman into English (I can
send it in a week or so) and can send you a family picture from around
1923 (I got it from a family member who lives in New-York [the son of
Scholem Lif] It is dated a few years before my grandmother was born.

If you have any more details or can forward me the e-mails of those
two survivors from Braslaw, I'll very much appreciate it.

Thanks again for your kind respond.
