Kopel Barkai was born in Rakishok to Yizhak and Etil Botodvka in 1908. He studied chemistry in France. After returning to Rakishok he married Sonia (1934)
in 1937 they came to Givaat Brenner. They had 3 children. He passed away in 1967.

In 1937 They immigrated and came to Givat Brenner. She was a teacher. They had 3 children. She passed away in 1991.
